David vs Goliath
David’s win over Goliath is like a Justin Beiber destroying Osama Bin Laden with a supersoaker. You’re welcome for the hilarious image.

The poor victim of bold espresso beans.
Twitter followers, you have a better introduction to this topic than most. I fear you unsuspecting readers might find offense to this issue. So sorry.
Yesterday on Twitter, I documented that a small fly found its way into my coffee. After wading through my disgust and attempting to calculate how many germs now live in my foam, I realized that this little guy took its last breath in a pool of caffeine. Is that a good way to go? Perhaps Belmont kids may think so, but I think it would be miserable. The bold espresso beans, ground to perfection, was so thrilling that it gave him a heart attack. Do flies have hearts? And no, I’m not smarter than a fifth grader.
This got me thinking : How big is the largest fly?
I found this picture of the horsefly. “This is Tabanus sudeticus, sometimes called the dark giant horsefly. It seems, oddly enough, that this impressive insect has not really got a commonly-accepted English name. It’s referred to in one place as the “dark behemothic horsefly”.
This is HUGE! Really quite glad that this one didn’t land in my coffee cup. He’s so big, I probably could have heard him screaming. Why am I assuming that the fly is a ‘he’? Well, same reason I assume all dogs are ‘hes’ and all cats are ‘shes’. It seems appropriate however twisted it may be.
On a more music related note, I’ll be in the studio tonight recording “I’m All In”. Stay tuned for that!
And remember: Cover your mugs, save bugs.
I did a cover of one of my favorite songs: “Like A Star” by Corrine Bailey Rae. Enjoy!
So I’ve been thinking…
Polarized sunglasses make everything greener. How? Funny you ask. I was actually comparing the differences today. Slide them on. Slide them off. Slide them on and see green and no glare. Slide them off and see duller green, more glare. My shorthand hypothesis is that the glare is hindering us from seeing this world in its beautiful color! Polarized sunglasses fight this glare, which is why they were so helpful back in my life guarding days. No one drowns on my watch…
Anyway, as Spring matures with a vivacity of color, I pray that I pay attention. It is easy to watch for the first couple of weeks, as it is such a huge contrast from the cold, dark, winter months. But somewhere along the way my attention trails off, and I forget to look at how green or how rich nature is at its full potential. We live in a beautiful place. I want to notice, take note of what a tremendous creation it is.
Let us see through new lenses
